1. Identify the Weeds:
• Determine the type of weeds in your lawn (e.g., broadleaf, grassy, or sedge) to choose the most effective herbicide.

2. Choose the Right Herbicide:
• Selective Herbicides: Target specific types of weeds without harming your grass. They are ideal for broadleaf weeds like dandelions and clover.
• Non-selective herbicides: Kill all vegetation they come into contact with. Use these for spot treatment on tough weeds.

3. Apply Pre-Emergent Herbicides:
• Apply in early spring (August - September) and early autumn (February - March) to prevent weed seeds from germinating.
4. Apply Post-Emergent Herbicides:
• Apply when weeds are actively growing. Follow the label instructions for application rates and timing.
5. Manual Removal:
• For small infestations, manually pull weeds, ensuring you remove the entire root to prevent regrowth.
6. Maintain a Healthy Lawn:
• Mowing: Mow at the correct height for your grass type to reduce weed seed germination.
• Watering: Water deeply but infrequently to promote deep root growth.
• Fertilising: Keep your lawn well-fertilised to outcompete weeds.

7. Spot Treatment:
• Use a non-selective herbicide for spot treatment of tough or persistent weeds. Apply carefully to avoid damaging your grass.
8. Follow-Up:
• Monitor your lawn regularly and reapply treatments as needed. Also, monitor newly germinated weeds and treat them promptly.
